Go to Firstdiscountmortgage.com and click on Careers, then Find a Job and complete the on-line application. Remember to include your current salary and desired work location and click submit.

What happens to my information after I submit the on-line application?
Your on-line application will be sent to the Recruiter assigned to the position you have indicated on your submission. Unless otherwise specified in job requirements, a First Discount Mortgage Recruiter will review your information and contact you within 48 hours if your background matches the position. All on-line submittals will receive an automated response confirming receipt of application. All job submissions are reviewed on a regular basis for potential matches to current job openings.

How long is the interview process?
Depending on the position you’re applying for, the process can take as long as 60 days. However, the average interview process takes approximately 2-3 weeks.

Entry Level Mortgage Loan Processor

Responsibilities:

  • Review mortgage loan files received for further processing.
  • Serve as the customer, builder, agent primary communication.
  • Communicate during weekly meetings with loan officer regarding status and issues of loans and advise Administration Managers of any potential issues.
  • Follow up on outstanding documents with vendors, builders, etc. as necessary.
  • Receive and review all documents, update POINT system as documents are received, ensuring data integrity.
  • Ensure receipt of clear final, repair inspection reports as needed prior to closing.
  • Maintain and correct daily pipeline reports accurately.
  • Provide world class customer service.

Must have at least 1-2 years of professional experience, either in banking, mortgage, accounting, finance, or customer service industry. Strong administrative skills a must. Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude a must. Must have strong computer skills with accurate typing abilities.

You will learn how to process loans for over 150 residential loan products. Salary, hotel and expenses are provided. Its a fantastic opportunity for a career in the mortgage industry.

Underwriter III

DESCRIPTION
The Underwriter provides "World Class Customer Service" to our customers by ensuring timely and efficient loan underwriting. Underwriters are responsible for utilizing investor guidelines to deliver quality saleable loans.

REQUIREMENTS
Over 4 years of underwriting experience. Have the ability to mentor other associates based on knowledge level and experience. Considered as a subject matter expert and a seasoned associate. Volume benchmark is 121+ units per month. Prefer DE/LAPP certification.

Underwriter I

DESCRIPTION
The Underwriter provides "World Class Customer Service" to our customers by ensuring timely and efficient mortgage loan underwriting. Underwriters are responsible for utilizing investor guidelines to deliver quality saleable loans.

REQUIREMENTS
MUST HAVE-Risk Management Certification graduate, or 1-2 years previous underwriting experience and RMIC graduate. Expected Volume Benchmark is 90-100 units per month.

Sales Assistant

DESCRIPTION
Assist 3-4 Senior Loan Officers with sales administrative responsibilities. Assist in managing client contacts and input information into their database. Handle client correspondence, newsletters and mailings. Schedule client meetings. Manage supplies for office. Organize client files to be submitted to processing. Identify urgent priorities and bring those items to the attention of the loan officers.

REQUIREMENTS
ONLY LOCAL CANDIDATES ARE BEING CONSIDERED AT THIS TIME.

  • Must have 1-2 years of experience, preferably in a banking, mortgage or professional setting. Personal experience with applying for a mortgage or selling property is ideal but not required. Experience as an assistant in a sales or mortgage environment preferred.
  • Position reports to 2-3 senior level mortgage officers. Responsibilities include handling client calls, preparing mortgage files to be submitted to processing, coordinating calendar/meetings, ordering sales materials and handling administrative correspondence.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks, type letters, have fast data entry skills and greet customers. Must be outgoing and friendly. Bilingual a plus but not required.
